All care givers welcome to join! Sunday 2/25 3-4:30pm. Local artist Emily Jalinsky will lead us in creating mindfulness-based art. Materials will be provided to create mixed-media collages.

About the event
Care and Spark is a space for artists who are care takers. This includes parents, or those who are taking care of older family members or loved ones. These free events are held by a different care taker/artist each month. Artist pursuing all kinds of artistic practices are welcome. Join us for a group activity designed by the presenting artist, snacks and some unstructured social time. Care and Spark is a space to share stories, connect, and take inspiration from one another.
Emily Jalinsky will lead this Sunday, February 25th 3-4:30pm.
Emily Jalinsky is an interdisciplinary printmaking artist. She explores finding mindfulness and spark amongst chaotic states of the mind through her collaged and layered works on paper. Emily is represented by Gilded Pear Gallery in Cedar Rapids, IA. She exhibits regionally and internationally, including a solo exhibition at La Maison du Potier, La Celle les Bordes, France, and most recently a joint show at Porch Light Literary Arts Center, Iowa City, IA. Permanent Collections include UIHC Mood Disorder Clinic and the Iowa City Public Library. Emily is an educator and founding member of the Iowa City Press Co-op at Public Space One, Iowa City, IA. Originally from Kansas City, she now resides, works, and actively contributes to the art community in and around Iowa City, IA.
