Exploring Creative Writing
Entering 4th through 6th grade
June 23-27 | July 14-18 | 9am-12:30pm
The youth camp will introduce children to different modes and approaches to writing; from poetry, comics, and fantasy, to mixed media arts. At the end of the week, children will participate in a group reading at PorchLight, bring home a finished project, and be able to talk about their interests and insights with the people they love.

Image+ Words
Teens
August 4-8 from 1-4pm
This program invites teens interested in either visual art or creative writing to explore how images and words work together. We will try our hand at comics, art journaling, ekphrasis, visual poetry, and learn how to create our own book bindings and zines. This program will culminate in an Image +Word exhibit at PorchLight. Teens will come away with a finished project, new knowledge of techniques used for writing and artmaking, and an increased confidence in themselves as artists and writers.
